The Central Department of Home Science, at Tribhuvan University invites application for the M.A. in Home Science, a pioneering program in Nepal since 2036 B.S. In Master Program offers specialization course in The discipline integrates Food and Nutrition, Child Development and Gender Socialization with aimed to produce competency, skilled human resources and provide quality education for women empowerment promote healthier individuals, empowered women, and socially conscious communities. Students gain a strong theoretical knowledge foundation supported by practical training through laboratory work, internships, seminars, workshops, and community engagement programs. The department offers specialized streams in Food and Nutrition, and Child Development and Gender Socialization, preparing graduates are successfully involved in their  careers such as nutrition counseling, education, research, NGOs/INGOs, and policy fields.
The department has given priority to With an active research work and provided research grants to the students as well as  the faculty for research activity. At present, the department has been working in partnership  culture, international collaborations with universities of such as Tampere University in Finland and institutions in Japan. The department has annually published journals like Hamro Sansar and Understanding Food and Nutrition and Child Development. students receive national and global exposure. Guided by experienced faculty, the program supports academic excellence through need-based and merit scholarships. The department envisions developing skilled nutritionists, child development specialists, gender experts, entrepreneurs, and researchers who contribute to the well-being of individuals, families, and communities locally and globally.
